U-TEK A PROJECT BY SEVREN
NI-ARB AND AL/X/S
The al/x/s - and me decided to make a common music project
during the production of the xmtp-single "abattoir".
The production took place at the ultimate reality studios
of al/x/s who was engineer and co-producer of "danger",
"abattoir", "freaks" and "cenotaph".
al/x/s was a producer for dance and club music and we
thought that it could be cool to combine his dance-ideas
with my electronic body music background. "Das
Mass der Dinge" was our first single and it was
a very big club-hit - that´s the reason why we
released a remix-single only on vinyl. But after "Das
Mass der Dinge" al/x/s and me both had our minds
in different projects (I also founded my T.G.I.F.-studios
short after it) so it was very calm around u-tek for
years, beofre we released "I´m movin´".
In 1997 Torben Schmidt of zoth ommog wanted to re-release
u-tek material and we collected a lot of u-tek stuff
we produced during the years 1989 to 1993 - you will
find it on "Goldene Zeit".

REVIEWS
SIDELINE May 1994 "I AM MOVIN´"
Metamatic is nothing but a subdivision of Music Research
(alias Zoth Ommog), while U-Tek is nothing else but
another project of Sevren Ni-Arb (XMTP) and Alexis Schaar
(former producer of XMTP) which already presents here
its second mcd. The 4 versions of the song "I AM
MOVIN´" should certainly break the dancefloors!
A quite commercial and danceable music that reminded
me of THE SHAMEN... God knows why? Nothing to do with
XMTP for sure, but extremely well-done and catchy, especially
the short mix and the extended mix. And believe me,
once you have started Movin´ in the heat of the
night, you´ll never stop!! Good!
